Sandy Bridge vs. Ivy Bridge
After a very popular and unique comparo between Gultown and Sandy Bridge, I'm back with a Sandy Bridge 3820 and an Ivy Bridge 3770K ( pictured )
OCZ Synapse Cache 128GB
Hot on the heels of a smashing test with a pair of 120GB Vertex 3, we have a 128GB Cache drive, which you wouldn't be using in RAID, so we're going to look at one this time.
What is a cache drive? By combining high speed, high IOPS SSD hardware and special software, this OCZ solution purports to turn an entire 2TB drive into essentially one SSD. How? By dynamically moving frequently used data to the SSD, such as frequently launched programs and files. Will it speed up boot? Will it make our test platform scream?
I'll show you!
