The Five Cardinal Rules
uryaen.com is a unique site. Part hardware/software/media evaulation platform, part web 2.0 experiment. I set out last year to create an all new paradigm in tech/gaming review sites. Sure, there are dozens of high profile, and literally ZILLIONS of low profile sites covering all of the same content, so why create yet another one? What makes this site and author so special? That's best explained in the Introduction, but what is not covered there is that my site has Five Self Imposed, Cardinal Rules. This alone sets this site apart from the average review site. The other thing is my unique take on review methodology, but that's something you'll just have to see as we go along. For now, please consider the following Five Points, and how they affect this site:
Rule number One:
uryaen.com will carefully control "paid" advertising. The reason for this is to remove any doubt that there is a review bias for products from companies who pay to run ads.
Rule number Two:
Pricing: There is none. How fair is that? At first I was going to do a subscription model, but I have since launched a Youtube Channel, and I will augment my operation through there. Don't hesitate to visit often and watch videos, click on related videos, etc. as that is how we will grow.
Rule Number Three:
My content is 100% original; EVERY last word written by myself or an authorized contributing editor.
Rule Number Four:
Any product reviewed which was NOT purchased retail will be disclosed as such. Many review sites write reviews based on prerelease or even ONE OFF products and do not disclose this information. I feel that this is unfair to the reader, and while I accept review samples and materials from vendors, ( and in fact a large flux of my initial content comes from these sources ) I will ALWAYS tell you where it came from and if it is a retail release or a prerelease.
Rule Number Five:
My reviews, commentary, and any other articles go through a VERY strict proofing process. Usually this means that certain articles will take more time than other sites. ( Although if you do find weird stuff on the site right now, you can blame my pain meds, I do )
